1945 July Railroad Washout

You go to bed and you never think that a railroad culvert might be gone in the morning when you wake up. The Mantua Creek had more water flowing through it than the culvert could hold. The culvert and a large part of the embankment were washed away and the trestle shown in the link below was built to support the rail line.

Check out the clipping the list below. There was a big washout in 1882 also.
