1909 view of Wenonah Station

Here's the fourth postcard that the WHS received from Rick Mitchell --- the train crossing at Mantua Avenue, more than a decade before the street was paved. The postmark is dated August 25, 1909, and the postage is only a penny.

Lou McCall writes "One of the best! Two luggage carts are shown, a rarity. The track side curbing in front of the shed is still there. Look at the wagon wheel marks all over. Pic. shows semaphore pole in back (look above the shed's roof in pic) but the signal blades have been removed. Look at the fence around where Hawk's is now. I wonder if the person standing in the street is crossing gate operator."
